Combat in an RP (read this if you haven't rped before)

This is going to be a very simple introduction to combat in an rp, VERY SIMPLE. This is just so we don't have people typing stuff like "i hit you" everytime they attempt to attack someone else.

Ok, to start of, yeah you're gonna need to say you attack people, that is innevitable, but at least make it interesting, describe your attack (eg. what weapon you attack them with, the actions you take in this attack, various tactics, feints, that kind of thing.). If you feel you don't know anything about combat, just read a passage from a book, fantasy will help with melee attacks (sword fights and stuff like that), while a war(WWI, WWII) novel will help a little with artillary and guns. Basically just try to write to give others a good mental image of what your attack looked like.
And also remember you will probably not hit with every attack, and thus should occaisionally write that you miss.

As for Recieving an attack, which will deffinatly happen to everyone at some point in any rp that involves fighting, yes you can dodge, pary, block, or do just about anything to avoid harm. However, that does not mean you can never be hit. This is often a hard concept for people in an rp, as they obviously don't want their charecter harmed in any way. When typeing your reply to somones attack, you must take into consideration that you are not perfect, and at least at some point in the battle, you will be hit.

This brings me to the next very important part. God moding. I'm hoping everyone knows what that means, but for those that don't I'll elaborate. Now I'm sure we've all played a game at some point and used some cheat for invincibility or something like that, and it's sort of the same idea. When god moding in an rp, people often say that they either hit with every attack, or are never hit by anything. Really this just frustrates other players, so please keep away from doing this.

Now I will post some examples of battle latter, and if you don't understand, just post to tell me, I am not a psycic and so I need your input.
